1st paragliding lesson

i went for my 1st paragliding lesson on last friday, 31st may. I never thought that it would be that difficult because from my past learning & researching over the internet especially via youtube on kiting lesson, it looks pretty easy. anyway my advice is don't judge the book by its cover! My personal experience was, it was damned difficult. Faridil, a young guy with a-kind-of skinny built-up being my instructor and teacher for my paragliding lesson had given me a prototype glider for me to start off. He referred it as 'kuda liar' and frankly speaking after my first few attempts to take it off from the ground, i had to admit that glider is very very 'liar'! i have been dragged, pushed and turned around on the bare ground when i was trying to fly off the glider. It was truly a painful experience but i slowly picked up lessons.

My 1st day of lesson was undeniably a painful one. Most of my attempts failed and only at the end of the day, i was able to put the wing up for 1 to 2 seconds over my head before it crashed down. To be honest, after my 1st-day-lesson was over, i have big hesitation whether my successful attempts to fly off the wing was truly because i did understand the concept of flying off the wing or it was just a mere luck. I returned home with a little dissatisfaction on myself and with tensed muscle, blotted stomach and a little migrain. Faridil kept on reassuring me that the current whether condition with aggressive wind speed at the learning field was the reason i suffered the pain of learning. 'Kuda liar' has done its job very well to put me into sufferings, i was kinda phobia after that.

Anyway, the 2nd day was sometwhat very progressive. Despite the fact that the wind condition did not come to our advantage, in fact it was poorer that a day before, i was able to fly off the wing with many attempts. I could also experience stabilising the wing over my head and able to apply most of Faridil's instruction. The 2nd day was not a good day for learning to fly off the wing, especially a beginner like me. The wind was consistently blowing at roughly high speed of 15km/h. We arrive at 11am and could not start off my lesson until 4pm. That was the time when we had to wait under the tree shade for almost 5 hours doing nothing useful. Our long so-called time-wasting waiting was paid off, i could able to steer up the glider on top of me with little problems and i did learn something new during the short 2-hour-training session.

Now, i couldn't wait to go on learning other new lessons on paragliding. As of now, my lesson on ground handling was not over, i still need to learn forward takeoff, turning my body from reversed takeoff and some other things. I hope i can have enough confidence to fly off next weekend.

3 nights in a row at Bukit Jalil

Last night completed my 3-night-swimming-practice. Honestly i rarely make this kind of commitment especially when it comes to swimming, however because of me realising that i have progressed remarkably within the last few weeks, i consider this as a breakthrough. Last night, i did the same thing of paddling with my hands and constantly kicking my legs. Although my face was still under the water surface while padding and making me not able to breathe, i noticed that my entire body afloat was reasonably moving stably, as oppose to the last practice where it was wobbly. Another thing which i think it was an improvement was, when i paddled using my left hand, i felt that i was more confident. I always make the bars at the bottom of the swimming pool as my mark to make note on my progress. So until now, i was able to reach 2 bars by paddling my hands and obviously holding my breath underwater. Well, i could not wait to learn on how to surface my face out of water and catch the air. Until now, just keep on practicing. I got to stop, cause i have a meeting to chair.

gopro xshot extendable arm

It's really a good news for me today. I just arrived at my office cubicle and i realized that there was a large parcel lying on my table. Not to my surprise, immediately i know that the xshot 2.0 extension arm for my gopro has arrived. i dont expect that it will arrive that soon, i was thinking it may take around 3 to 4 weeks at least, well this is based on my past experience of purchasing over ebay. Thumbs up ebay!!! it looks like my gopro will be accompanied with a handsome xshot extension arm.

New year with new goals in mind

I admit that i haven't got any reasonable excuse to explain why i have lost touch of my blog. Well, i don't to blabber wasting my time justifying myself why i'm so lazy. the fact that my blog becomes irresponsibly poor, well in fact with no post at all for the past 5 months is just & inexcusable & un-acceptable. The point is now, i wanna start it back. Making myself of returning to my old habits of jotting down my thoughts is something that i think is good, at least to my mental therapy. There were so many things have happened and yess i wont blab about them. If i think i have ample time to scribble it down, then good for you. In this particular posting, i just wanna to share one of my personal goals this year which is freestyle swimming and paragliding. As of now, i'm so into thinking of my swimming lessons. Honestly speaking, i cam say to my self that i have progressed remarkably. I started i think almost one month ago at bukit jalil pool, never had in mind that i would progress quite well like now. i only set a mildly goal that i want to be able to freestyle swim at least this year, if not the worst i can make myself move forward just by kicking. The last memory i had on swimming lesson was in 2006, where i failed to swim. I know the theory but when i dipped myself into the water, things were not as what are learnt. From thereon, it become sort of a nightmare & i'm phobia of starting another freestyle swimming lesson. Well thinks had changed now, thanx to my gf for encouraging me to go to a pool and start over again. Now, i am able to kick forward & moving afloat at the water surface. and i just started practicing using both of my hands slowly paddling the water. It was still not really in orderly fashion but i started to get the hang of it. Couldn't wait to update another posting on my progress.

An unexpected surprise of my blog

I got an unexpected call from my lawyer this morning while i had just finished my Monday morning meeting. It was a little surprise of the reason why she called my up. There was a claim by another lawyer issuing a threatening remark claiming that i had intentionally produced a blog writing ugly things about the lawyer as well as the judge. To my surprise, according to what i've been told over tc the content of the letter addressing me as the one who creates slandering over the internet about some individuals related to courts. An dthe funny thing here is it threatens me if i were not to officially apologise within given time, i'll be summoned & thus brought to the court.

Funny sunggoh mangkok2 ni!

Location of Android SDK directory in my computer

Until now i have successfully install the basic Android SDK. what i have noticed once the installation was, it comes together with the Android SDK manager. The manager functions as a tool to download even more Android libraries. When i have downloaded the recommended libraries, it turned out that the space required to store those libraries has depleted to close to only 300Mb left. My computer starts to crawl like shit.

Few other things left that i should learn while installing the required program to run Android, such as ADK and Eclipse.

My first discovery of Android application development

I thought of blogging about a post of my past experience at the Shah Alam High court. That was the first time we, (i mean the rest of usual crowds who have attended my boring harta sepencarian case) have direct communication my ex-wife's farther. Personally, i believe my court battle is actually against him and myself, and not between me and my ex. Anyway, the thought of bursting out about the whole experience in the court and few things that managed to capture which i would think may become an advantage to my side, has somehow influenced my consciousness not to do it right now. Perhaps another posting would be better cause i have something more relevant and at-least-more exciting to myself for me to jot down. It's about a new area of knowledge that i have discovered yesterday while window-shopping and book-browsing at Popular bookstore. It's about Android application development.

To make it short, i unplanned-ly have bought a thick wrox-publishing programming book that cost me reasonably a fortune. The book is in general explaining about how one can write a program on Android platform specifically on sensor-related programming language. Fortunately, the principle language of programming is Java, so it would be and hopefully easier for me to deal with.

And today, still having a good level of enthusiast-ism on the subject, i did a little google, and i came across the following address
